The International Foundation Year prepares students for university with English language and study skills practice, as well as subject-specific teaching. When students complete the programme, they will progress to the first year of their undergraduate degree. This pathway allows students to progress to degrees in subjects including English, Journalism, History, Politics and many more. Students choose a route depending on which undergraduate degree they plan to study. There are three routes: Law, Arts and Humanities and Social Science. Which route students choose impacts the modules they will study.

The International Foundation Year prepares students for their chosen undergraduate degree. At the International Study Centre, students will have support as they adjust to life in the UK, with academic and English language preparation to help them when they progress to Cardiff University.
