Share a passion for biology. Become a certified grade 6-12 teacher while earning a biology degree at UWF. This one-of-a-kind program is a collaboration between the Hal Marcus College of Science and Engineering and the College of Education and Professional Studies. Students will graduate with a bachelor of arts degree in their chosen math or science field along with professional teacher certification.
In just four years, our program will provide students with a degree in biology plus a Florida professional teacher certification. Students will gain the knowledge and skills students need to teach students in grades 6-12 with diverse learning needs.
Coursework includes core biology courses, education classes and practical teaching experiences. Students will be prepared to teach marine biology, anatomy and physiology, environmental science or comprehensive science.
In addition, professional teaching certification gives students versatility in career options.
