Bachelor of Arts - Chemistry Teaching at University of West Florida - Pensacola: Tuition: $15,421.00 USD/year (Scholarship Available)
In just four years, the program will provide students with a degree in chemistry plus a Florida professional teacher certification. Students will gain the knowledge and skills students need to teach students in grades 6-12 with diverse learning needs.
Coursework includes core chemistry courses, education classes and practical teaching experiences. Students will be prepared to teach chemistry, marine science, environmental science or comprehensive science.
In addition, professional teaching certification gives students versatility in career options.
Students will study inorganic and organic chemistry, biochemistry, polymer science, laboratory techniques and more. Students will also take general education classes and a variety of teacher training courses.
Field experiences are built into the curriculum, and students will receive coaching every step of the way from experienced teaching mentors.
Summer internships can provide a starting stipend of $1,250. Juniors and seniors are eligible for generous scholarships.
The UWF-Teach program is accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation. CAEP is the only national accreditor for educator preparation recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.
