We are glad you’re here. This is a dynamic department—with students studying human relationships, analyzing film and television, creating films, practicing public relations, writing for the student newspaper, and instructing others in communication.

The faculty’s mission in the Department of Communication & Media is “to develop students who are effective and ethical communicators with the creative, critical, and collaborative skills necessary to succeed in a diverse global environment.”

Our students pursue undergraduate degrees with an emphasis in communication studies, media studies, or media production. We also have minors in public relations and communication, as well as a teaching certificate in communication. Beginning in the fall of 2015, we will also offer a minor in digital journalism. Additionally, we have a Master of Arts in Communication.

We promote a student-centered environment where we are committed to providing the most up-to-date curriculum. Our professors and instructors are some of the best with whom I have ever worked. They include published authors, filmmakers, sought-after speakers, respected leaders, and award-winning educators. They love to teach and are constantly looking for ways to make the learning environment the best possible for our students.

Admission Requirements

  • Minimum Level of Education Required: Grade 12 / High School
  • Min GPA: 60.0% 
  • English Proficiency Requirements:
    For direct admission, applicant must be from an English speaking country or meet either of the following English test scores:
    • Min TOEFL iBT: 79
    • Min IELTS overall: 6.5
