A liberal arts degree gives the freedom to focus on the subjects that most interest students. Students will concentrate on a major area of study while maintaining a breadth of learning spanning the arts, humanities and social sciences.
Liberal Studies with Integrated Foundation incorporates an extra year of study to prepare students for their undergraduate degree. Once the foundation year is done, students will progress directly on to the three-year BA (Hons) Liberal Studies (Art History) degree.
The Art History Major
The Art History Major offers a critical exploration of this exciting and influential field. Through an artistic lens, students will engage in key themes such as feminism, philosophy, politics, racism and religion.
Exploring London’s museums, galleries and auction houses will introduce students to visual art in all its diverse forms. By examining pieces from across the world, students will learn how material culture can inform – and even contradict – global histories.
Elective modules will help students understand the breadth of this important discipline and also give a broad skillset.
Completing this degree will develop students into highly employable and open-minded individuals who are ready pursue an international career in the arts sector and other related fields.
