Bachelor of Arts (Honours) - Music and Korean Studies (WTH4) at The University of Sheffield: Tuition Fee: £22,520.00 GBP / Year (Scholarship Available)
Program Description
This degree teaches students to perform, compose, and write about music while developing their language skills and understanding of Korean culture.
The University of Sheffield teaches Korean from scratch, so students don't need previous experience. The language course is intensive, and towards their final years, students will focus on more advanced and vocational skills in writing, summary, precision translation, debate, and oral presentation.
The music curriculum and expertise span seven different areas: performance, composition, musicology, ethnomusicology, music psychology, musical industries, and music technology.
The University of Sheffield offers an impressive array of modules, with academic and practical study in most music genres, including classical, pop, jazz, folk, and world music. Students will develop their skills as musicians and music researchers, while having the freedom to follow their own interests.
In third year, students will spend time studying in Seoul, South Korea at one of The University of Sheffield's six partner universities, experiencing the culture first hand and honing their language skills by living alongside native speakers.
