Bachelor of Arts (Honours) - Music and Philosophy (VW53) at The University of Sheffield: Tuition Fee: £22,520.00 GBP / Year (Scholarship Available)

Program Description

In this program, students will learn skills in performance and composition, and improve their academic knowledge of music. At the same time, they will learn about philosophical issues that have challenged thinkers for centuries.

The University of Sheffield's music curriculum and expertise span seven different areas: performance, composition, musicology, ethnomusicology, music psychology, musical industries, and music technology.

This program offers an impressive array of modules, with academic and practical study in most music genres, including classical, pop, jazz, folk and world music. Students will develop their skills as musicians and music researchers while having the freedom to follow their own interests.

In philosophy, students will study the cornerstones of the subject (including philosophy of language, ethics, metaphysics and logic) alongside distinctive specialist modules on topics such as philosophy of education, philosophy of law, philosophy of medicine, film and philosophy, and feminism. Students also study the history of the subject from Plato to the French existentialists.
