Bachelor of Fine Arts - Digital Art at University of West Florida - Pensacola: Tuition: $15,421.00 USD/year (Scholarship Available)
The Bachelor of Fine Arts: Digital Art Specialization (B.F.A. in Digital Art) provides students with the technical and conceptual tools to participate in a complex contemporary art world where the boundaries between disciplines of visual art, design, and technology are increasingly blurred. New students are listed with a 'B.F.A. Pending' degree status; students apply through a portfolio review in their Sophomore or Junior year to be fully admitted to the program.
The B.F.A. in Digital Art at University of West Florida is a visual and studio arts education. The coursework includes training in arts foundations and continues onto studies in new and emerging media forms such as Computer Aided Design (CAD), Digital Fabrication (e.g. 3D printing, milling technologies), Physical Computing (e.g. Electronics), Web Technology, and Programming. Art History courses are required as a strong complementary component of the program; these classes provide a broad awareness of the diverse aspects of past and present cultures in order for students to develop the capacity for effective communication and creative expression.
The B.F.A. in Digital Art degree program is a partner program with the Studio Art Specialization. While B.F.A. students in Digital Art or Studio Art focus in a specialization, they may take elective coursework from either area to strengthen technical skills and awareness in traditional and contemporary art.
