Program Description

Students will learn to understand the theoretical principles underlying a problem, and how to engineer a solution. They will also become familiar with the practical issues involved in developing reliable, effective software systems in business or industry.

As well as learning to program and think analytically, students will be encouraged to work in teams and develop communication skills.

Students will also have the chance to arrange a year in industry. This will put academic studies into context, improve skills, and enhance employment prospects. As well as being paid a salary during placement, students will pay reduced tuition fees for that year.

In the final year, students will complete a dissertation project, giving them scope for creative and intellectual input.

This course is accredited by the British Computer Society. The courses fully meet the requirements for Chartered Information Technology Professional and partially meet the requirements for Chartered Engineer.
