Forestry at Bangor has been taught for more than 110 years, and there has never been a more exciting time to enter the profession. The degrees will prepare students for the challenge of managing forests for the many benefits they provide, at a time of global environmental change. Forests, vital to the global ecosystem, cover 30% of the world’s land area. Forestry is concerned with the understanding and sustainable management of these forests for the benefit of society.

This course is accredited by the Institute of Chartered Foresters and gives partial fulfilment of Professional Membership Entry.

Admission Requirements

  • Minimum Level of Education Required: 1-Year Post-Secondary Certificate
  • Min GPA: 60.0% 
  • English Proficiency Requirements:
    For direct admission, applicant must be from an English speaking country or meet either of the following English test scores:
    • Min TOEFL iBT: 75 (Min Listening: 17.0, Min Reading: 18.0, Min Speaking: 20.0, Min Writing: 18.0)
    • Min IELTS overall: 6 (Min Listening: 5.5, Min Reading: 5.5, Min Speaking: 5.5, Min Writing: 5.5)
    • Min PTE overall: 56 (Min Listening: 51, Min Reading: 51, Min Speaking: 51, Min Writing: 51)
    Applicants interested in applying for direct admission, but are yet to complete an acceptable language test, can do so, but must provide valid results before receiving a final offer letter.
    For conditional admission, you are required to provide English proficiency scores:
    • Min TOEFL iBT: 32
    • Min IELTS overall: 4 (Min Listening: 4, Min Reading: 4, Min Speaking: 4, Min Writing: 4)
    • Min PTE overall: 30 (Min Listening: 30, Min Reading: 30, Min Speaking: 30, Min Writing: 30)

  • Fieldwork Equipment Fee: £50-£80 (one time)
  • Stationary Fee: £5-£15 (one time)
