Geography is the subject of our time, dynamic and constantly evolving as the world around us changes. It bridges the gap across social and natural sciences, and at Bangor takes an interdisciplinary approach. The degrees allow students to explore the physical processes that shape the Earth, the social, cultural and economic processes that influence people and places, and the human-environment relationships. Students develop their knowledge and a broad understanding of geography, alongside professional and transferrable skills that allow them to compete successfully for jobs in a range of careers and sectors.

Admission Requirements

  • Minimum Level of Education Required: 1-Year Post-Secondary Certificate
  • Min GPA: 60.0% 
  • English Proficiency Requirements:
    For direct admission, applicant must be from an English speaking country or meet either of the following English test scores:
    • Min TOEFL iBT: 75 (Min Listening: 17.0, Min Reading: 18.0, Min Speaking: 20.0, Min Writing: 18.0)
    • Min IELTS overall: 6 (Min Listening: 5.5, Min Reading: 5.5, Min Speaking: 5.5, Min Writing: 5.5)
    • Min PTE overall: 56 (Min Listening: 51, Min Reading: 51, Min Speaking: 51, Min Writing: 51)
    Applicants interested in applying for direct admission, but are yet to complete an acceptable language test, can do so, but must provide valid results before receiving a final offer letter.
    For conditional admission, you are required to provide English proficiency scores:
    • Min TOEFL iBT: 32
    • Min IELTS overall: 4 (Min Listening: 4, Min Reading: 4, Min Speaking: 4, Min Writing: 4)
    • Min PTE overall: 30 (Min Listening: 30, Min Reading: 30, Min Speaking: 30, Min Writing: 30)

  • Fieldwork Equipment Fee: £50-£80 (one time)
  • Stationary Fee: £5-£15 (one time)
  • UCAS Application Fee: £20-25 (one-time)
