The Business and Management (HRM) degree will provide students with a comprehensive understanding of current theory and practice relating to employment relations and Human Resource Management (HRM).

Students will learn to combine theory and practice to perform effectively and responsibly as an HRM practitioner, understanding the purpose and key objectives of the HRM function in contemporary organisations. The course will further equip students to implement sustainable HRM strategies and practices that raise levels of employee recruitment, training, talent development, engagement, wellbeing and performance in a specific organisational context.

Students will further learn of the complexities of employment regulation and the way it informs practice to ensure staff are treated ethically when they are at work, as well as how to promote equal opportunities and manage workplace diversity and inclusion. For a career in HRM it is also important to develop competencies in analysing key contemporary global labour market trends and their significance for workforce planning in both domestic and international organisational contexts.

Admission Requirements

  • Minimum Level of Education Required: 1-Year Post-Secondary Certificate
  • Min GPA: 75.0% 
  • English Proficiency Requirements:
    For direct admission, applicant must be from an English speaking country or meet either of the following English test scores:
    • Min TOEFL iBT: 92 (Min Listening: 17.0, Min Reading: 18.0, Min Speaking: 20.0, Min Writing: 17.0)
    • Min IELTS overall: 6.5 (Min Listening: 5.5, Min Reading: 5.5, Min Speaking: 5.5, Min Writing: 5.5)
    • Min Duolingo English Test Score: 110
    • Min PTE overall: 58 (Min Listening: 51, Min Reading: 51, Min Speaking: 51, Min Writing: 51)
    Applicants interested in applying for direct admission, but are yet to complete an acceptable language test, can do so, but must provide valid results before receiving a final offer letter.
    For conditional admission, you are required to provide English proficiency scores:
    • Min IELTS overall: 4 (Min Listening: 4, Min Reading: 4, Min Speaking: 4, Min Writing: 4)
    • Min Duolingo English Test Score: 60
