Bachelor of Science - Informatics - Bioinformatics at Baylor University: Tuition: $44,544.00 USD/year (Scholarship Available)

Baylor University's Bioinformatics undergraduate program was one of the first of its kind when it was created. The Bioinformatics major is a combination of computer science, life sciences, mathematics and statistics. The program is essentially a double major in biology and computer science with a minor in chemistry. Available courses include:

  • Genomics and Bioinformatics
  • Computational Biology
  • Bioinformatics and Systems Biology
  • Computer Architecture
  • Engineering Economics Analysis
Because of the broad-reaching nature of the program, students majoring in this area can expect any number of career opportunities after completing the degree, including database design, library science, data warehousing, forensics, anthropology, and agriculture. Students also commonly continue their education in medicine, pharmacological studies, and computer science.

  • Minimum Level of Education Required: Grade 12 / High School
  • Min GPA: 77.0% 
  • English Proficiency Requirements:
    For direct admission, applicant must be from an English speaking country or meet either of the following English test scores:
    • Min TOEFL iBT: 80
    • Min IELTS overall: 6.5
    • Min Duolingo English Test Score: 110
    • Min PTE overall: 60
