The English Language Preparation program is a chance to improve your English language skills before beginning your pathway program. This program will help you develop the required language skills to be successful in your intended pathway and degree program. There are 2 English language programs available to students not meeting the direct entry requirements for the International Year One program. 1-Semester Pathway and 2-Semester Pathway pre-sessional English are available. 1-Semester Pathway pre-sessional English requires Academic IELTS for UKVI 5.0 overall (45.0 in all subskills) and 2-Semester Pathway pre-sessional English requires Academic IELTS for UKVI 4.5 Overall (minimum 4.5 in all sub-skills).
This program consists of a pathway program offered by StudyGroup at the International Study Centre at the University of Sussex followed by entry into a university program offered at the University of Sussex. In the International Year One programme, you will study courses related to your intended field of study alongside English to develop and enhance your skills as a student. Advancement into your intended program depends upon the successful completion of the pathway program.
International Year One in Business & Management will introduce you to technical principles while helping you develop your creativity, teamwork and problem-solving skills. You will progress to a wide range of business and management degrees with the confidence to think logically, coordinate projects and learn to effectively manage.
Equip yourself for the marketing challenges of the future. In this Bachelor of Science in Marketing and Management, you’ll study a combination of marketing and management theory and practice. This helps prepare you for anything – from launching your own company to innovating at the heart of a global organisation.
You critically evaluate organisational and consumer behaviour, while learning the importance of marketing strategy, brand development and new product management. In the first year, you also develop a valuable understanding of economics, accounting and business law. In the subsequent years, your studies will include digital marketing, consumer behaviour, international marketing and marketing analytics and metrics.
This course prepares you for the workplace while offering the flexibility to tailor your degree to your career path. You’ll engage with dedicated professionals, and be challenged with new perspectives, ideas and approaches. You can also spend time enriching your experience by exploring different disciplines from across the University, or by applying for a placement or to study abroad.
