English Language Preparation + 2-Semester Pathway Pre-Masters - Science & Engineering - Transfer to Master of Research in Evolutionary Biology at University of Sussex International Study Centre: Tuition Fee: £28,200.00 GBP / Year (Scholarship Available)

The English Language Preparation program is a chance to improve your English language skills before beginning your pathway program. This program will help you develop the required language skills to be successful in your intended pathway and degree program. 1-Semester Pathway and 2-Semester Pathway pre-sessional English are available. 1-Semester Pathway Pre-sessional English requires Academic IELTS for UKVI 5.0 overall (5.0 in all subskills) and 2-Semester Pathway pre-sessional English requires Academic IELTS for UKVI 4.5 Overall (minimum 4.5 in all sub-skills).

This program consists of a pathway program offered by StudyGroup at the International Study Centre at the University of Sussex followed by entry into a university program offered at the University of Sussex. In the International Year One programme, you will study courses related to your intended field of study alongside English to develop and enhance your skills as a student. Advancement into your intended program depends upon the successful completion of the pathway program.

The Pre-masters program in Science and Engineering will let you explore and begin to understand the power of science and engineering in the real world by studying relevant courses such as programming and systems control, mathematics for computing and engineering and data analysis and modelling. While you begin to learn the technical and applied aspects of science and engineering you also are provided with a critical outlook and approach employers want in your chosen field.

Through the Master of Research in Evolutionary Biology, become a researcher who can contribute to the grand challenges of antibiotic resistance, cancer and environmental change. This research-focused degree is based on our strengths in evolutionary biology. You’ll study the evolution of sociality, symbioses and sexual conflict through to the process and effect of mutations.

The course is linked to the Evolutionary and Adaptive Systems Research Group. This Group is interdisciplinary, bringing together researchers from computational science through to philosophy.

You’ll study how and why organisms are the way they are, and how this affects fundamental parts of our lives. This includes topics such as adaptive robotics, neural modelling and artificial life.
