Middlesex University's multi-disciplinary biomedical engineering course mixes engineering with medicine. This provides students with a solid understanding of the technological developments taking place in medicine, engineering, physics, maths and computer science. During the course students will enhance their engineering knowledge and gain specialist skills which will help them to design and improve existing and emergent systems, devices and treatments.

Students will gain specialist biomedical engineering skills to follow in the footsteps of graduates who’ve forged careers in clinical engineering, biomechanics, drug design, and pharmaceuticals. Middlesex is fully equipped, state-of-the-art laboratories for medical device design and human performance measurement. Students will also have access to the facilities in the human-computer interaction research department. It’s here that they're making significant healthcare developments, which include the rehabilitation of stroke victims and amputees.

Students will gain valuable professional experience – and receive a Diploma of Industrial Studies – by taking a work placement with the NHS or one of Middlesex' industrial partners between years two and three.
