Why Public Relations? Why Yeditepe?
Public Relations is one of the main areas of study within the Communications discipline. It focuses on perceptions, attitudes and expectations within public opinion, and plans and performs activities accordingly. It creates and manages corporate identity and corporate image by developing in house communication practices. Public Relations is also about managing media relations in order to build and maintain corporate reputation as well as creating sponsorships and social responsibility projects. Adapting the corporate entity to the online environment and developing social media applications is a big part.
In today’s world, the need for people who can think critically and creatively, who are team players, who can develop strategies for both ordinary and crisis situations; who have face to face communication skills and who are able to use communication technologies effectively is increasing. Respectively, it is our mission here at Yeditepe to foster individuals who can solve problem through analytical thinking, who are productive, creative, self-confident, respectful to their environment and conscious of their social responsibilities. We are proud of our graduates who have raised our bar and are now employed nationally and internationally within the communication sector, at global and national companies, political institutions as well as within the bureaucracy and civil society organizations. We are looking forward to welcoming you to Yeditepe University and the Public Relations and Publicity Program.
