1-Semester Pathway Pre-Masters - Business, Media and Social Sciences - Transfer to Master of Arts in Gender, Violence and Conflict at University of Sussex International Study Centre: Tuition Fee: £11,400.00 GBP / Year (Scholarship Available)

This program consists of a pathway program offered by StudyGroup at the International Study Centre at the University of Sussex followed by entry into a university program offered at the University of Sussex. In the International Year One programme, you will study courses related to your intended field of study alongside English to develop and enhance your skills as a student. Advancement into your intended program depends upon the successful completion of the pathway program.

The Pre-Masters in Business, Media and Social Sciences, provides a route to a variety of postgraduate degrees at the University of Sussex. English language and career skills are combined with subject-specific modules such as social sciences, cultural studies, and a variety of business skills such as accounting, finance and business management to provide you with a strong foundation for your chosen business, media and social sciences degree. 

Critically engage with debates around the relationships between gender, violence and conflict. In this Master of Arts in Gender, Violence and Conflict, you’ll consider perspectives from anthropology, international relations, sociology and law.

You’ll have the opportunity to explore critical and feminist approaches to social research and its ethics. The course focuses on:
  • gendered experiences of violence
  • conflict and peace militarisation
  • masculinities and femininities
  • representations, embodiments and the institutionalisation of violence.
You’ll be based in the School of Global Studies, which is a unique interdisciplinary school. Our international faculty undertake cutting-edge research, and we run a distinctive programme of guest lectures, research seminars and events. Our campus is also home to an active student body, hosting frequent debates, lectures, films and social events covering global and political issues.
