Biomedical Engineering combines medical knowledge with engineering principles to improve health care and quality of life. Students will focus on the modelling and design of biomedical systems to develop new technologies for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention. With courses that cover biomechanics, physics, chemistry, and design, each student will be trained as a generalist, helping them communicate across the many areas of expertise for this field. With 2 years of real-world co-op work experience and a major design project, students can apply their knowledge and explore career options, which range from creating new solutions for diabetic testing to designing athletic equipment.
