This path is for upper-year applicants: candidates applying to transfer from other accredited institutions are considered for upper-year admission if they have completed more than half of the courses taken in the Queen's first-year program.
This program is unique in Canada. Course content includes highly sophisticated mathematical approaches to engineering issues. Mathematics and Engineering students will take pure and applied math along with engineering courses in their chosen area of specialization. Students will learn to analyze and solve engineering problems requiring superior math skills, such as those involving modern communications, control and mechatronic systems.
Areas of specialization include applied mechanics, computing and communication, systems and robotics.
Note: Students in this program are also eligible for the Queen’s Undergraduate Internship Program (QUIP) which provides 2nd or 3rd year students with a 12-16 month work experience. The internships are paid, professionally supervised, career-related positions offering students the opportunity to learn about current advances, practices, and technologies in business and industry.
