Bachelor of Arts (Honours) - Liberal Arts - Literature and Creative Writing at the Regent's University: Tuition Fee: £18,500.00 GBP / Year (Scholarship Available)
A liberal arts degree gives students the freedom to focus on the subjects that most interest them. Students will concentrate on a major area of study while maintaining a breadth of learning spanning the arts, humanities and social sciences.
The Literature & Creative Writing Major
The Literature & Creative Writing Major adopts a transnational approach to literary studies.
Students will examine a wide range of texts written by authors from different national and cultural backgrounds. Touching on various literary themes, students will learn how to build compelling arguments and relate texts to the historical, geographical, cultural and socio-political contexts that inspired them. Through this transnational lens, students will gain an understanding of how people, cultures and civilisations connect, clash and evolve across time and space.
The creative writing aspect of this major offers a practical element to the studies. Students will take part in writing workshops, which will train them to tell authentic stories in a unique and personal way. Literary knowledge will also inform student's writing and help them to curate stories that emotionally engage with their readership.
This perfect balance between creative writing and literary studies will expose students to the affective power of language and teach them how to employ it as a vehicle for meaning in all aspects of life.
Elective modules will help students understand the breadth of this discipline and also give a broad skillset.
Options to learn a language and study abroad at one of Regent's international partners will help expand learning and global outlook.
This interdisciplinary degree will open doors to fields as diverse as education, civil service, journalism, marketing, communications and advertising.
