Finance is about business decision making associated with financing and investing. The Bachelor of Commerce - Finance program is a 4-year degree program that gives students a thorough exposure to a wide range of finance institutions including stock and bond markets, foreign-exchange markets, commercial banks, investment banks, the Bank of Canada, and the US Federal Reserve. Through problems, cases, and spreadsheets, students apply finance theory to real-world issues and graduate with the skills and understanding necessary for a successful career in the finance industry.

NOTE: Applications for this program must be submitted to the Bachelor of Commerce program within the application portal for acceptance/admission. Students complete their first year taking the necessary pre-requisite courses to gain admission into the major in second year. 

Admission Requirements

• Minimum Level of Education Required: Grade 12 / High School
• Min GPA: 50.0% Convert grades
• English Proficiency Requirements:
  For direct admission, applicant must be from an English speaking country or meet either of the following English test scores:

  • Min TOEFL iBT: 86 (Min Listening: 20.0, Min Reading: 20.0, Min Speaking: 20.0, Min Writing: 20.0)

  • Min IELTS overall: 6.5 (Min Listening: 6.0, Min Reading: 6.0, Min Speaking: 6.0, Min Writing: 6.0)

  • Min PTE overall: 58

  Applicants interested in applying for direct admission, but are yet to complete an acceptable language test, can do so, but must provide valid results before receiving a final offer letter.
