The Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Musical Theatre is a pre-professional degree in performance. The Musical Theatre program is for the serious student interested in building their vocal and acting performance. The student receives vocal training throughout the program and has the opportunity to build their skills through the course work and the departmental productions.
The Design/Tech track concentrates on both the design and technical aspects of Theatre. Most theatre classes will center on Scenery, Costumes and/or Lighting, with a variety of electives to be used in other areas. This track is appropriate for students interested in working in the Design or Technical areas of Theatre or to prepare for an MFA Graduate School program. Students auditioning for the program should provide a resume and prepare a portfolio of their Design and Technical work (either realized or theoretical) as well as drawings/artwork, etc. Admission decisions will be based on the portfolio review and an interview.
