Bachelor of Health Studies (Direct Entry) at University of Manitoba: Tuition: $17,600.00 CAD/year (Scholarship Available)

The Bachelor of Health Studies program is a 4-year degree program that integrates social science concepts, such as sociology and economics with science concepts, such as biology and metabolism. The integration supports the promotion of health by creating a new understanding among graduates of the determinants of health and how these determinants influence the health of individuals, families, and communities, as well as health services. This degree combines knowledge from science and social science disciplines in their content and learning

The Bachelor of Health Studies degree prepares students to work in a large variety of agencies and businesses that plan or deliver health related service and products, a foundation for careers in health care teams and community health management.

Graduates will have the opportunity to work in agencies and businesses that plan or deliver health related service and products. Health Studies graduates are expected to be employed in areas such as:
  • Social policy research – develop programs based on demographic, social and economic analyses
  • Community and social service workers – advise consumers on health issues and products
  • Community health administration – assist professionals and planners
  • Resource for aboriginal and rural communities – assist professionals and planners

Admission Requirements

  • Minimum Level of Education Required: Grade 12 / High School
  • Min GPA: 50.0% 
  • English Proficiency Requirements:
    For direct admission, applicant must be from an English speaking country or meet either of the following English test scores:
    • Min TOEFL iBT: 86 (Min Listening: 20.0, Min Reading: 20.0, Min Speaking: 20.0, Min Writing: 20.0)
    • Min IELTS overall: 6.5 (Min Listening: 6.0, Min Reading: 6.0, Min Speaking: 6.0, Min Writing: 6.0)
    • Min PTE overall: 58
    Applicants interested in applying for direct admission, but are yet to complete an acceptable language test, can do so, but must provide valid results before receiving a final offer letter.
    This program does NOT offer conditional admission

  • Manitoba International Students Health Plan Fee: $1,032 per year
