The Business and Management (Entrepreneurship and Innovation) BSc has been specifically created to help students put learning into action while they study by creating their own start-up business. 

Through a series of specialist modules in the second and third year (including the final year project), students will develop entrepreneurial skills and a nimble approach to business and innovation. Students gain confidence in their acumen and become quick to recognise and evaluate new business opportunities while calculating risk. The hands-on, practice-based learning of the course is key to this. Students create, run and grow a real-life enterprise as part of a group consisting of up to five students. By learning through doing, students will be able to apply theory very early on in the degree course to solve social and economic problems.

Along the way, students learn from academics and receive support from professional business mentors who will help you to get the most out of your degree while developing your start-up. There are lots of resources available to you that can help you shape your degree into what you want it to be:

  • The Brunel Innovation Hub offers expert advice and funding on student start-ups
  • Through the Co-Innovate programme, students can opt to collaborate with an SME and help them solve a real business problem as part of the final year project
  • Students can choose to take a work placement in their third year or focus on developing their start-up
  • At Brunel they make sure that students have access to a variety of activities and events to challenge their self-starter mentality including the Mayor's Entrepreneur Competition

Admission Requirements

  • Minimum Level of Education Required: 1-Year Post-Secondary Certificate
  • Min GPA: 75.0% 
  • English Proficiency Requirements:
    For direct admission, applicant must be from an English speaking country or meet either of the following English test scores:
    • Min TOEFL iBT: 92 (Min Listening: 17.0, Min Reading: 18.0, Min Speaking: 20.0, Min Writing: 17.0)
    • Min IELTS overall: 6.5 (Min Listening: 5.5, Min Reading: 5.5, Min Speaking: 5.5, Min Writing: 5.5)
    • Min Duolingo English Test Score: 110
    • Min PTE overall: 58 (Min Listening: 51, Min Reading: 51, Min Speaking: 51, Min Writing: 51)
    Applicants interested in applying for direct admission, but are yet to complete an acceptable language test, can do so, but must provide valid results before receiving a final offer letter.
    For conditional admission, you are required to provide English proficiency scores:
    • Min IELTS overall: 4 (Min Listening: 4, Min Reading: 4, Min Speaking: 4, Min Writing: 4)
    • Min Duolingo English Test Score: 60
