Sheridan College's Pharmacy Technician diploma program is fully accredited by the Canadian Council for Accreditation of Pharmacy Programs, and learning outcomes meet the entry-to-practice competency requirements of the National Association of Pharmacy Regulatory Authorities.
All in-person lectures and labs will be held in Sheridan’s Centre for Health Communities, a state-of-the-art facility designed to simulate applied health settings. Students can apply their new skills in assignments, case studies, discussions, presentations and more! They will also gain real-world experience through field placement in both hospital pharmacy (160 hours) and community pharmacy (200 hours) settings. Students will build a strong foundation of knowledge in core subjects such as human anatomy and physiology, pharmacy math, pharmacy legislation and pharmacology. They will also learn how to communicate with patients and clients in a professional manner; collaborate with other healthcare professionals; and manage pharmacy inventory to ensure safe, effective and efficient product distribution.
