Combined Degree - Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) & Bachelor of Science (Honours) - Astrophysics (ES) at Western University : Tuition Fee: $33,526.00 CAD / Year (Scholarship Available)
Unlike traditional business schools that expect students to choose a specialization early on, the 2+2 program structure of the Ivey Honours of Business Administration (HBA) offers students the freedom to explore their academic interests before choosing their career options. In the first two years, students can study in any faculty or program. This opportunity to gain new life experiences ensures that HBA students and their classmates bring diverse and more seasoned perspectives to their business education. The combination of a deep knowledge of business and another academic or professional field makes for a strong career foundation. Students can apply their first two years of university study at Western to two degrees.
Students in this program will have the option to complete a four year Honours Bachelor of Business Administration (HBA) or to study for five years and combine the HBA with an Honours Bachelor of Science. While in their first year at Ivey (HBA 1), students will apply for one of the combined degree programs. If admitted, they will spend their fourth and fifth years of university studying a combination of business courses and required courses in their second degree area. In five years, they will have completed two degrees.
Physics and astronomy involve the study of matter, forces, and energy as they relate to the understanding of our environment from Earth to the distant reaches of the universe. The Department of Physics and Astronomy at Western studies natural phenomena such as star formation, the Earth’s atmosphere, and meteors as well as applications of physics to medicine in the form of imaging, and radiotherapy and technology -specifically, nanofabrication, optoelectronic devices, and biomaterials.
Physics is a foundational discipline of STEM careers and enables students to develop logical reasoning skills based on underlying principles. Our undergraduates also acquire proficiency in problem-solving, mathematics, experimental design, computer simulation, and data analysis while experiencing the tools and techniques of modern high technology.
Western's Astrophysics modules emphasize the study of the physics of the universe and its components. Offering a combination of Astronomy and Physics courses, students learn about a wide range of topics, including the life of stars and black holes and the evolution of the universe, from the most diverse astronomy group in Canada. With the skills acquired in this module, our graduates stand out with their involvement in cutting-edge research, including the recent discovery of gravitational waves and new planets beyond our solar system.
NOTE: Please note the English scores listed are minimum requirements. Meeting the minimums does not guarantee admission. Students with low English scores may be admitted to the English BOOST Program, a 9 week training program for conditional admission to their chosen program.
