If you have the academic ability to apply directly to your degree program and you do not need additional English support, the Direct Master’s Accelerator Program (Direct MAP) is the ideal route of entry into University of South Carolina. It is designed to meet the needs of the highest-achieving, bilingual students.
Through Direct MAP, you will be fully enrolled in your degree-course schedule alongside your fellow domestic students. Students continue into their second semester with 9 degree credits.

Master’s of Engineering (M.E.) degree in chemical engineering is a professional master’s program for students who are focused on a career in the chemical process industry. Students will develop deep technical skills through advanced coursework.
We strive to provide you with an advanced foundation in the basic and applied sciences, as well as opportunities to broaden your skill sets in technology development, project management, and commercialization.
The 30 semester-hour program can be completed in as little as one year of full-time study. Of the 30 credit hours, 12 hours will be mandatory core courses that will enhance general knowledge of chemical engineering, while the remaining 18 hours will be chosen by the student from an extensive list of electives to enable development of a specific area of expertise.
The curriculum provides the opportunity to engage in different technical and engineering, as well as business school electives. You may choose between a project management, entrepreneurship or technical track; elective components will be tailored to your specific interests.
Students have the option of either a Master of Engineering or Master of Science degree. Pursing a Master of Science degree requires completing a thesis.
