Extended Accelerator Program (EAP) combines language, culture and academics to give students a deep understanding of life in and out of the American classroom and includes personalized English-language instruction and tutoring.

More than 10,000 nurses have graduated from the College of Nursing since it became the state’s first nationally accredited baccalaureate nursing program in 1957. Our graduates, now located across the globe, have helped improve the accessibility and quality of health care throughout South Carolina, the US and around the world.

The curriculum for the bachelor’s degree in nursing has two levels or divisions - pre-nursing lower division and upper division.

In the pre-nursing lower division, students take a core of general education classes, such as English, history, math, and basic science and nursing courses that focus on health and wellness, the history of nursing, nutrition and pathophysiology.

A prescribed number of pre-nursing lower division courses must be completed before students can apply to the upper division. Acceptance into the lower division program does not guarantee a student will progress to the upper division level. The process is competitive and based on overall and progression GPA.

Upper division students combine clinical hours in a variety of settings with classroom instruction and work in the college's patient simulation lab.
