The Master of Education (Interdisciplinary Studies in Education) is for educators seeking a flexible degree that can be tailored to their needs and interests. The program suits graduates and professionals who are looking to diversify or change their career direction. The program will also be of interest to graduates seeking a broad base in education and training to underpin career goals in generalist education roles in fields such as staff training and development, or policy and planning.

This degree allows students to choose subjects from a range of disciplines including Adult and Vocational Education, Educational Leadership, Information and Communication Technology in Education and Training (ICT), Literacy, Special Education, Higher Education and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL).

Students will build skills to investigate and solve complex issues in a rapidly changing educational climate and conduct an individualised research project that ties in with their work, interests and study specialisation. Students will also develop sound theoretical foundations and extensive practical skills that address the broader aspects of education and training.

Students will also benefit from flexible study options, allowing students to study online or in the classroom.

  • Min GPA: 50.0%

    For direct admission, applicant must be from an English speaking country or meet either of the following English test scores:
    • Min TOEFL iBT: 86 (Min Listening: 17.0, Min Reading: 18.0, Min Speaking: 17.0, Min Writing: 18.0)
    • Min IELTS overall: 6.5 (Min Listening: 6.0, Min Reading: 6.0, Min Speaking: 6.0, Min Writing: 6.0)
    • Min Duolingo English Test Score: 115
    • Min PTE overall: 62 (Min Listening: 54, Min Reading: 54, Min Speaking: 54, Min Writing: 54)
    For conditional admission, you are required to provide English proficiency scores:
    • Min TOEFL iBT: 32
    • Min IELTS overall: 4.5 (Min Reading: 4, Min Writing: 4)
    • Min Duolingo English Test Score: 65
