The Master of Engineering (Environmental) provides graduate Engineers or a science graduate who has completed a four-year degree program with discipline-specific knowledge and technical skills in advanced environmental engineering and sciences. The program focuses on environmental technologies and management with key areas in water supply, wastewater treatment, cleaner production and waste management, site remediation, air and noise pollution control, sustainable energy and water resources.

Students will develop the capacity to design, simulate and analyse engineering solutions related to environmental protection that leads to sustainable development. Students will also develop the capacity to assess environmental risks and manage the environmental aspects of different industries.

The Master of Engineering delivers expert skills and applied competencies required for the professional engineer. The degree is designed to train and enhance professional practice, advance technical and specialist skills, and provide an opportunity to put theory into practice with applied projects and research. The degree also delivers communication, strategic and project management skills essential to the practising engineer.

Students will study the core subjects in Professional Communications and Engineering Workplace Practice, Innovation and Design, Industrial Waste Engineering and Cleaner Production, Sustainable Energy Technologies, Water Quality Engineering and Management, Air and Noise Pollution Management, and Research Methods.

For the Environmental Engineering major students will study subjects in Membrane Processes and Applications, Coastal, River and Groundwater Engineering, Advanced Foundation Engineering, Environmental Engineering Process Design, Site Contamination and Remediation Technologies. Students will also complete an advanced project.

  • Minimum Level of Education Required: 4-Year Bachelor's Degree
  • Min GPA: 60.0%

    For direct admission, applicant must be from an English speaking country or meet either of the following English test scores:
    • Min TOEFL iBT: 86 (Min Listening: 17.0, Min Reading: 18.0, Min Speaking: 17.0, Min Writing: 18.0)
    • Min IELTS overall: 6.5 (Min Listening: 6.0, Min Reading: 6.0, Min Speaking: 6.0, Min Writing: 6.0)
    • Min Duolingo English Test Score: 115
    • Min PTE overall: 62 (Min Listening: 54, Min Reading: 54, Min Speaking: 54, Min Writing: 54)
    For conditional admission, you are required to provide English proficiency scores:
    • Min TOEFL iBT: 32
    • Min IELTS overall: 4.5 (Min Reading: 4, Min Writing: 4)
    • Min Duolingo English Test Score: 65
