Master of Science - Biomedical Engineering - Molecular and Cellular Systems at University of New Mexico - Albuquerque: Tuition Fee: $21,262.00 USD / Year (Scholarship Available)

Biomedical Engineering (BME) is consistently ranked as one of the best jobs in the US by organizations such as Forbes and the New York Times. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the starting salary of biomedical engineers entering the field with a master’s degree started $48,000 to $70,000 a year, while those with Ph.Ds. earned a starting salary of $80,000 to $100,000. Furthermore, BME is a growing field; the Bureau of Labor Statistics predicted that between 2010 and 2020, growth in the industry should reach 62%, (~10,000 new jobs).

The Biomedical Engineering graduate program at UNM is the only BME program in the State of New Mexico. The program is inherently interdisciplinary, with faculty from across the School of Engineering, the UNM School of Medicine and the College of Arts & Sciences. The faculty and students are talented and diverse, with more than 50% of students coming from groups that are traditionally under-represented in science and engineering (e.g., women, minorities, veterans, and students with disabilities). UNM graduates find employment in national laboratories, industry, and academia.
