The Master of Science in Engineering (MSE) is a flexible program that provides excellent preparation for doctoral studies or professional practice in mechanical engineering.

No matter which option students choose for their Master’s Degree (MSE) in Mechanical Engineering at Johns Hopkins – all-course, essay, or co-op essay, students will have the option to concentrate their coursework in one or two fields or explore a variety of specializations!

Admission Requirements

• Minimum Level of Education Required: 4-Year Bachelor's Degree
• Min GPA: 77.0% Convert grades
• English Proficiency Requirements:
  For direct admission, applicant must be from an English speaking country or meet either of the following English test scores:

  • Min TOEFL iBT: 100

  • Min IELTS overall: 7

  This program does NOT offer conditional admission
• Other test requirements: GRE Test required
